ARRGH!

During the Allen family reunion we were taken over by little pirates. Brandon's Uncle Bill came up with a brilliant idea that he would create a treasure hunt, accompanied with hats, treasure boxes, a map, and yes, even treasure. The kids were so excited. The map brought them all over and around Brandon's grandparents property. We had these little pirates running around super excited that they were going to find some treasure. When they finally found where the "X" marked the spot they began digging. Of course, my boys, being the boys that they are jumped right in to dig with their bare hands. They dug, and dug, and then let someone else dig, and then dug some more. All the way up to their elbows they dug. Pirates sure bury their treasure deep. Finally, after a lot of digging and pulling they got the treasure box out of the ground... and it was indeed full of shiny treasure for the little pirates to fill their treasure boxes.
Thanks Uncle Bill for your creativity. My boys are still talking about their pirate adventure.  What an awesome experience for these little ones to partake in. Who would have thought that such a simple activity would have such an impact on their little lives.

Oh that is the funnest pirate idea I've ever heard of! I might borrow that idea for the boys b'days. What a fun and thoughtful uncle.
